Don't suffer in silence

April 29, 2013

Good Morning Loves,

I pray everyone is doing well today.  Have you started working on your goal yet?  Stay focused!!!!  Keep grinding until it's accomplished.  Today I want to speak directly to those who are depressed.  You don't have to suffer in silence.  I've been there and I know what it's like to feel totally hopeless.

Some symptoms of depression:
  • Difficulty concentrating, remembering details, and making decisions
  • Fatigue and decreased energy
  • Feelings of guilt, worthlessness, and/or helplessness
  • Feelings of hopelessness and/or pessimism
  • Insomnia, early-morning wakefulness, or excessive sleeping
  • Irritability, restlessness
  • Loss of interest in activities or hobbies once pleasurable, including sex
  • Overeating or appetite loss
  • Persistent aches or pains, headaches, cramps, or digestive problems that do not ease even with treatment
  • Persistent sad, anxious, or "empty" feelings
  • Thoughts of suicide, suicide attempts
If you have or are experiencing any of these symptoms over a period of time, you should contact a doctor. For years I suffered with depression before receiving any treatment.  Seeking help is not a sign of weakness but a sign of strength.  You can and you will get through this but you may need some assistance.
