The Battle Before Breakthrough

The Battle Before Breakthrough

And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God,
I will pour out of My Spirit upon all flesh,
and your sons and daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions,
and your old men will dream dreams;
And, on My servants and on My handmaidens,
I will pour out in those days of My Spirit and they shall prophesy.”
Acts 2:17-18
“Be glad then, ye children of Zion and rejoice in the Lord
your God; for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he
will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain and the
latter rain in the first month…”
Joel 2:23

There is no doubt that we are living in the most exciting time of church history. The verses above tell us many things, but what I want to focus on is you are part of a prophetic purpose that is bigger than you. The biggest battles are always right before the sweetest breakthroughs. Let me draw your attention to another Scripture:

“When you see the latter and former rain come together, the Husbandman (Lord) that waited for His precious fruit of the earth… draweth nigh…”
James 5:7

While the greatest outpouring of God’s Spirit is at hand – so is the greatest battle.
The Word of God reveals in 2 Timothy 3:1, “This know also, that in the last days…perilous times shall come…”
I underlined “perilous” because I want to digest what that word means and what God is trying to communicate to us when He chooses that particular word to describe the atmosphere that the last days will be like. This word “perilous” in the Greek (chalepas) means hard to bear; troublesome; dangerous. I think many of us are feeling that now as events come together to create the very atmosphere that God warned us of in 2 Timothy 3:1.
But I want to remind you today that God prepared you before He ever positioned you. Listen up, Saints - I am EXCITED! Because BATTLE INDICATES BREAKTHROUGH!
No one knows the day or the hour, but about every 2000 years, God raises up a chosen deliverer, who is challenged by an adversary. In Moses’ time, it was Pharaoh – Moses was called to deliver God’s people out of a 400 year bondage.
At the time of Jesus’ birth, the adversary was Herod.
In 2001, we as the body of Christ on earth entered our prophetic moment. I have good news for you - you are God’s chosen deliverer - the Bride of Christ. You are the ambassador of Jesus Christ on earth. He sent Jesus to deliver you, and then gave you power by the Holy Spirit to set others free!

“Sing, O barren, Thou that didst not bear, break forth into singing and cry aloud
… thou that didst not travail with child…”
Isaiah 54:1

Precious Body of Christ, though you came from barrenness, you will stand in bountiful blessing and breakthrough. You are the generation for the restoration of all things.
It may appear by the state of the world and our culture today that Christians are losing the battle. But the Bride of Christ is not weak OR defeated, but strong and glorious.
Get ready! Because Pharaoh and his Egyptians are not just going to let you go. They are going to load you up with all their silver and gold … raiment.
The word of God says of His people when they came out of Egypt, “When you come out -- Ye shall not go empty.” It also says that there was not a feeble one among them.
I say again, “Get ready!!!” There might be a crucifixion FIRST, but it’s a cry of victory – not defeat because after that comes the Resurrection. Body of Christ, youare the chosen generation for complete victory and restoration!!!! If you will persevere through the heat of the battle, you will come out on the other side to VICTORY and the reward that comes with it. Watch and see what is on the other side of the battle!
