We have become conditioned to take things for face value.....
Someone posted on Facebook that the new update for the Iphone would
make the phone waterproof. People proceeded to update their phone and
then throw it in a bowl of water to test it only to find out that
they've been pranked. People watch a video on YouTube and take it as
law. They read an article or a caption and figure it must be true if it
was written. Our society has become comfortable and in that comfort,
extremely lazy.
I remember this thing we had back in the day
called "RESEARCH". My parents also had an old adage, "Believe nothing
you hear and half of what you see." Just because it comes across the
screen of your computer does not deem it valid, true, or correct. It is
our responsibility to look into things to verify the validity of the
things we hear and see. It amazes me how someone will speak on a topic
and then state with a straight face that their source was one post on Facebook,
a lot of times not even an article that someone attached, but a
statement made by one person. I'm so tempted to quit my job and get a
Kiosk at the mall selling bottled tap water, beach front property in
Northeast Baltimore, and then open a business overseas selling sand in
the Sahara. I'm quite sure my income would increase exponentially.
Acts 17:11 - Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than
those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great
eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said
was true. These persons did not take anything they heard as fact on the
strength of the person they heard it from. They did their own research
and tested the validity of what they were being told. We should be the
same way in a lot of aspects, when it comes to what government says,
what society says we should be doing/ living our lives, and more
importantly when it comes to persons opinions on how we should walk with
God.
Everyone's interpretation of the bible isn't always
correct just because it came from the bible. We have got to look into
things for ourselves. At the end of the day, lack of information makes
one easy prey to manipulation and domination, mostly because if one is
ignorant, they don't realize what is taking place and that is the state
that this society, the governments, and the devil himself hopes that we
stay in.
We truly are stuck in the Matrix and until persons
wake up and see things for what they truly are, we will remain fuel/
food for the powers that be to implement and fulfill their agendas.
