I Pray All Day

Trust in God
"Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God."  « Psalm 42:11
From time to time God leads me to a lonely place—stripping me of all that I have wrongly placed my trust in. It can be an extremely painful time, but one that is necessary for the pruning of the soul.

Sometimes it catches me off-guard and like a child I cry out for the things taken away to be returned. It is then the Lord reveals how wrongfully attached I was and then guides me through repentance and spiritual restoration.

I encourage you to trust in God alone; not in your job—the paycheck, your workouts, that gluten-free diet, the roof over your head, yourself, and surely not other people. All those things will disappoint and inevitably fade away, but God and His promises are forever.

"Father, open the eyes of our heart so we can clearly see the things that we are wrongfully attached to. Forgive us for placing anything between Your love and our desires, restore us to a place in Your presence. This I pray in Jesus name, amen."
