If you need a miracle this week focus on this for starters when your faith gets weak: Elizabeth and Zachariah were so old not even medication, if they had it back then, would have worked. They were both BEYOND child bearing years. They wanted a child all these long years... And menopause came and went. They were OLD. You know, when people not only stop having babies but most their age enjoyed hand holding and cuddling. Sex was fading too because their bodies were OLD. See that and don't miss it. The story is told so often before Christmas we could easily overlook it! They were OLD. Beyond child bearing years. Procreation was not the topic anymore because yes, I said it already, they were old. Can you imagine your very old great grandparents saying "Honey pray for us we want a child!" We'd begin to think they had dementia or Alzheimer's. Our reply would be gentle and loving,"Grandma and Papa these are the years when you enjoy great grandchildren. You don't have children anymore." I mean, ummmm, if sex is still happening at that age that alone is a miracle! But God said they would have a child. I've always wondered if either one of them laughed! I'll ask them when I get to heaven. The Bible says that God gave Elizabeth the ability to have a child! Holy cow! Let that set in. Wow. And what God says will happen. It's just as wild as Mary having a child without ever having sex! We need to realize that God CAN DO whatever He wants to do and He doesn't need us to do a thing! He can do the miraculous and doesn't need our help! Will you believe?!
