Take Heed

Sometimes, the blessing is the fact that God told you no....

People are quick to say that their prayers have gone unanswered. That is an incorrect statement. I'm learning that no answer is an answer. Everything I think I need or want at the time is not for me to have at that moment when it comes to God's plan. Allow me to share a story...

There once was a caterpillar who had made it's transformation into a butterfly. It began to make it's way out of it's cocoon. He soon discovered that this process is an incredible struggle. He struggled, scrapped, crawled, kicked, etc. and at times he felt as though he may not be able to make it out. That now butterfly began pray to God... God... please let me out of this cocoon so that I can spread my new wings and fly away. Nothing’s wrong with that prayer right? I mean he's struggling, trapped, and trying to get out of a troubling situation, right? So, when the caterpillar finds himself still in the cocoon struggling trying to get out, he felt that God left his prayers unanswered. After hours of struggling and exerting all of his energy, he finally made it out and flew gently down to the ground.

When he landed, he asked God.... God, why didn't you help me? You saw me struggling and you did nothing. It would have taken absolutely nothing for you to open up my cocoon and let me out. What did I do wrong? Do you not love me? The butterfly began to break down and cry. At this time an older butterfly saw the young one crying and flew down to see what was wrong...

What's wrong young butterfly?

God doesn't love me

What do you mean?

I was trapped in my cocoon struggling to get out. I asked God to help me and He did nothing. He left me there to fight and fend for myself. Why would he do that if He loved me?

The older butterfly began to chuckle to himself.

What's so funny? the young caterpillar asked

Young one, God loves you and that's why He let you find your own way out of your cocoon...

Why would He do that knowing that I was struggling??

Oh young one, the older butterfly said..... your wings were weak and feeble, never used before when you were in the cocoon. In your struggling to get out, your wings were strengthened so that when you got out of your cocoon you could fly away. If God had opened your cocoon for you, your wings would not have been able to do anything and you would have fell to your death. God let you go through the struggling so you could get stronger and appreciate the blessing you were given.

Moral of the story: Even when God says no, there is a bigger purpose behind it and a larger lesson to be learned so that when He does say yes, you'll appreciate all the more what He is saying yes to.

Have a blessed day FB family.....
